"One of the best things about working for YPI's that we have a fantastic collaborative spirit, starting at the senior management level, that is hard to match in many of today's workplaces."
Roberto joined the YPI team in 2013, having accumulated over 35 years expertise in the maritime industry, and we believe that there's nobody better to oversee the safety of your superyacht. His varied experience both in operating large vessels as well as managing them from ashore makes him ideally suited to the role of Fleet Manager at YPI.
Born in Italy, Roberto first ventured out onto the oceans during his military service in the 70s, after completing five years in the Nautical Institute in Genoa, Italy. He joined the merchant navy in 1978 and remained there for 17 years, climbing the ranks from cadet to deputy captain on cargo ships and luxury cruise liners. Focusing on safety and security is second nature to Roberto, who was nominated as Fleet Safety Officer of P&O and Princess Cruises for three consecutive years in the early 90s. In 1996, he came ashore to work for V Ships Leisure and Silversea Cruises in a number of senior management roles, including Director of Safety, Security and Quality, until joining us at YPI.
When he's not overseeing the safety and security of YPI's superyacht fleet, Roberto enjoys gardening and long walks in the countryside.
