Beating off some stiff competition MARY-JEAN II has won the award for ‘Best Displacement Motor Yacht of 500GT to 1,299GT’ at this year’s World Superyacht Awards.
The interest this yacht generated following her launch last summer was unique but it didn’t stop there. Now, hot on the heels of a much-talked about appearance at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show and her recent showing at last week’s MYBA Charter Show in Genoa, Yachting Partners International (YPI) is pleased to announce that the ISA-built MARY-JEAN II has won her category at this year’s World Superyacht Awards 2011.
“She was in one of the most competitive categories of the whole evening,” says YPI Head of Charter, Fiona Maureso. “Up against the likes of ADDICTION, BEL ABRI, SOLEMATES and the ISA 63M. Winning this category is testament to the design and build quality of MARY-JEAN II.”
Launched in May last year, the 61.70-metre MARY-JEAN II was built by International Shipyard Ancona (ISA), also responsible for the naval architecture and engineering of the yacht. Accommodating up to 12 guests in 7 cabins and working with a crew of 15, MARY-JEAN II makes excellent use of the very latest technology and design to create a light-filled and spacious yacht that manoeuvres exceptionally well and delivers on all levels in terms of comfort, interior & on-deck entertainment, toys & tenders, and overall efficiency.
“The owners of MARY-JEAN II thoroughly enjoyed being on board during her first ever Caribbean season,” adds her YPI Charter Manager Jacqueline Leigh. “Now we look forward to welcoming charter guests on board for her first Mediterranean season. She is a beautiful, fun yacht to be on. She deserves her World Superyacht Award and I’m sure this will not be her last accolade.”
Accepting the award on behalf of the owners was Will Bishop (YPI Sales & New Construction) and Marcello Maggi – ISA Sales & Marketing Director.
MARY-JEAN II was built by ISA with interior design by Mark Berryman. She was project managed by YPI Management and is now managed for charter by YPI Charter.
In addition to MARY-JEAN II, another YPI yacht was nominated for an award at the World Superyacht Awards this time in the ‘Best Sailing Yacht (30- 44.99m)’ category – the world’s largest J-Class, presently for sale through YPI Brokerage: LIONHEART. Our congratulations for reaching the Finals.
