The Superyacht Design Awards and the World Superyacht Awards are two of the industry’s most lauded annual events. They celebrate and acknowledge the highest levels of achievement across the whole of the yachting spectrum in particular design, innovation, build, technology and, of course, style.
Over the years YPI has been lucky enough to have bought, sold, managed and chartered some of the most popular finalists and winners in both competitions including such exceptional yachts as RAINBOW, MARY-JEAN II, METEOR, LIONHEART and M and this year is no exception with both LUNAR (the first of the new C115 range from the Polish Conrad shipyard) and the highly renowned AXIOMA (formerly Red Square) the first superyacht from Turkish builder Dunya Yachts.
AXIOMA (ex: Red Square)
The 72m AXIOMA is the first yacht built by Turkish builders Dunya Yachts and the largest motor yacht ever built in Turkey. Sold at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show and now chartering through YPI, her lines were drawn by Diana Scott of Sterling Scott in Monaco with her interior created by the late, legendary designer, Alberto Pinto.
“When you have good clients who love their yachting, you tend to work with nothing short of the very best in yachts,” says YPI Director of Sales, Russell Crump. “And we are blessed with some fabulous clients who really love their yachting. AXIOMA was a winner even before she left the yard. Her exterior and interior designing is innovative, smart and simply stunning. Sedat Ergun, the MD at Dunya Yachts, oversaw an amazing project with her and we are very pleased and proud to see her reach the Finals this year.”
Polish shipbuilders Conrad celebrated their 10th Anniversary last year, the year they launched the first of a new series of motor-sailers, the CONRAD C115.
The stunning and highly original exterior of the 35m LUNAR was designed by renowned German designers Newcruise Hamburg, personally by Newcruise's former principal designer Frank Neubelt with engineering and naval architecture carried out by Dutch studio Vripack and Conrad’s own professional design team.
“LUNAR and the CII5 new designs offer an amazing amount of space,” explains YPI Broker for the series, Mike Rich. “The Owners Stateroom is eight metres wide. This series offers clean modern designs which utilise a stunning amount of new technology. She is a very worthy finalist and one we are proud to represent.”
