“For most charter guests there is something magical about being one of the first to charter a brand new yacht, and those who book GATSBY for 2015 are going to be able to savour the joy of that experience for themselves,” says Linda Ehrenstrahle, YPI Charter Manager for the yacht.
“Every item on board from the stunning woodwork to the carpets, cushions, bed linens and decks are brand new. And that feeling of freshness is further enhanced by the intelligent use of natural light and strategically placed windows throughout.”
Exceptional for yachts her size, GATSBY offers no less than six well-appointed, spacious cabins on board with up to 12 guests sleeping comfortably in one Master Suite, three Double cabins and two Twin cabins
“The yacht offers excellent relaxation and dining space for guests,” Linda points out, “and plenty of privacy when desired. In fact, the entire upper deck is entirely private, offering every type of comfort as well as an exceptional panoramic view from its large terrace.”
GATSBY also has an impressive range of water sport activities.
“No summary of all that GATSBY has to offer would be complete without mentioning the Captain and crew,” adds Linda. “Captain Nick Bull is an exceptionally experienced Captain as indeed is his crew including the Chef. They are well used to charters and really know how to offer that little bit extra to make every charter special.”

ANTIGUA CHARTER YACHT SHOW 05 - 11 December 2014
It is one of the most effective ways of presenting client yachts available for charter in the Caribbean to our American charter colleagues and the American market. This year YPI presents two of the biggest yachts in Show at the annual Antigua Charter Yacht Show taking place between 5-11 December 2014 at the Nelson’s Dockyard Marina in English Harbour, the Falmouth Harbour Marina and the Antigua Yacht Club Marina.
“By far the most successful way of ensuring our client yachts enjoy the maximum of bookings is to get the world’s leading retail brokers actually on board,” explains YPI Head of Charter, Vaniese Baldacchino. “As a retail broker, the yachts you tend to promote the most are those you know the most about and invariably that means you have been on board, seen each yacht’s specific selling points for yourself and met the crew. Antigua brings the world’s top brokers together to see the world’s top yachts available for charter in the Caribbean for the winter season.”
This year YPI Charter is pleased to present not one, but two of the biggest, most successful charter yachts in Show: the 73.6 metre NAIA and the 72m AXIOMA.
“The ultimate charter yacht – the ultimate game changer”
Fresh from an amazing summer season in the Med, NAIA is often described as the ‘ultimate game changer’. With a cruising range of 8,500 nautical miles, almost 900m2 of luxurious accommodation over four decks and, uniquely for a yacht of her size, an extendable HCA-certified heli-pad suitable for even the Eurocopter 135, NAIA is a yacht charter guests do not forget in a hurry.
“NAIA is the ultimate in luxury yacht charter,” explains her YPI Charter Manager, Alena Zilayova. “She is designed to leave guests wanting for absolutely nothing. She has a warm and relaxed interior, designed by the renowned Mark Berryman, which makes superb use of distressed oak and walnut for a soft natural ambiance. Accommodating up to 12 guests, in eight en-suite guest and VIP cabins, NAIA has a private elevator for taking guests up to an amazing Owners Deck; an eight-person spa pool, state-of-the-art gym and a stunning observation lounge forward.

“72 metres of Award-Winning excellence”
From the moment she was launched in 2013, the highly acclaimed and Award-Winning AXIOMA has proved to be every bit the successful charter yacht she was originally designed to be. Offering the ultimate in luxury entertainment over five spacious decks, AXIOMA makes excellent use of every one of her 72 metre length offering luxurious accommodation for up to 12 guests in a Master Suite, VIP Suite and four Double cabins - two of which are convertible into twins.
“AXIOMA features a stunning and relaxing beach house-style interior by the legendary late designer Alberto Pinto that contrasts natural woods and luxurious flourishes,” explains her YPI Charter Manager, Alena Zilayova. “She has a superb infinity swimming pool on the main deck, and a large Jacuzzi with swim-in bar on the bridge aft deck surrounded by large sun-pads. There is also a fully equipped gym, massage and steam room as well as a 3D cinema for 8 persons on the lower deck.”
“And then there is her piece de resistance: an absolutely breath-taking double-height open mezzanine in the main saloon, which really enhances the overall feeling of space and openness that runs throughout AXIOMA.”

THE AMALFI COAST – Annemarie Gathercole revisits this popular charter destination on board M/Y WHITEHAVEN.
The real value of any professional charter broker when it comes to putting together the perfect charter for each client, is their personally acquired knowledge and understanding of the destinations, the yachts and the crew they propose. Getting the match right is the difference between the ordinary and the spectacular.
No professional broker relies on the mass of websites and blogs currently available online when deciding on that selection. Instead they rely on personal recommendations from within the industry and, most importantly, from the insight gained by visiting many of the yachts and destinations themselves.
“It’s not just the yacht that makes a charter holiday perfect for a client,” explains Annemarie Gathercole, Senior Charter Broker with YPI. “It’s the crew, the Chef, how they work together to give charter guests that ‘extra’ that makes for such a memorable charter experience. It’s their own knowledge of the regions, the best places to eat, what to see, the Hidden Gems…those places not everyone knows about. That’s what I am looking for when I go on a yacht visit or Familiarisation Trip. I want to see how the yacht performs as a charter yacht. If I am impressed…I will recommend it. If not…I won’t. My reputation, and that of YPI, depends on my recommendations to clients and that’s not a responsibility we take lightly.”
Annemarie recently went back for a fresh look at an old hunting ground that remains popular with guests today, the Amalfi Coast.
ANNEMARIE’S ITINERARY FOR THE ALMALFI COAST
Compiled by Captain Mario of the CANADOS built, 2001, 25 metre M/Y: WHITEHAVEN
I have to be entirely honest…given the age of this yacht I would not ordinarily have proposed her to clients especially without having visited her. This trip however really opened my eyes.
We landed in Naples on the Tuesday morning, took the ferry to ISCHIA and embarked. The crew Mario, Serena and Francisco give us a really warm welcome. It was also our first chance to see the yacht. WHITEHAVEN is in great condition. She is comfortable, clean, shows an acute attention to detail and offers plenty of space for dining and relaxation. We were also soon to discover just how exceptional Chef Serena actually is and Captain Mario’s knowledge of the area was second to none - something that really brings a charter to life for guests.
We eventually went to anchor, had some lunch, then sailed to CAPRI where we toured the village taking the funicular up to the very top. Capri is a beautiful village with a lot of interesting places to visit and some excellent boutiques for shopping. In the evening we had dinner in the restaurant DA PAOLINO – it came highly recommended by Captain Mario and was set in a beautiful garden under a canopy of lemon tree leaves.
The next morning we took a taxi to ANACAPRI, the other major village on Capri. Here we visited the Villa San Michele and the marvellous museum in Axel Munthe'sdream home built right on the top of the island with some staggering views.
After a wonderful lunch on board, we set sail around the island admiring the spectacular rock formations such as the Faraglioni, and the caves, including the Grotta Azzurra of Capri: Tiberius' Sacred Sanctuary.
From Capri we sailed to Positano, famous for its ceramics and linen, arriving in the afternoon. We visited the town for a short time before moving on to Amalfi, taking a tour around the Islands of Li Galli (former home to the uniquely gifted dancer Rudolf Nureyev) on the way. There are essentially three small islands: Gallo Lungo, Rotonda and Castelletto which encompass a private area housing three villas which frequently host some of the most exclusive private events. Although we did not eat there, Captain Mario recommended the restaurant Il San Pietro di Positano which offers some amazing sunset vistas from its terraces.
For our first evening in Amalfi we took a taxi to Ravello, a stunning village 10km up the mountain which offers breath-taking views. You can visit the Villa Rufolo and during the summer months (up until the end of October) the superb Ravello Music Festival is also held there.
