WHY- More than a yacht concept: A revolution

WALLY partners with leading brokers YCO and YPI to fully exploit WHY ’s sales worldwide

Monaco - Wally today announced further developments on the groundbreaking WHY, the innovative concept which may well be set to revolutionise the luxury yacht market.

WHY is the brainchild of Wally, the yacht brand well known for dramatic, contemporary creations which successfully challenge the traditional approach to naval architecture setting new trends in the industry.

WHY is focused on unprecedented stability, unparalleled volume and sustainability. The WHY 58x38 model offers guests over 3,000m2 of living space in a 58m yacht measuring an astounding 38m wide. These exceptional volumes guarantee guests a collection of living, dining, sleeping and outdoor spaces previously unimaginable on the water, while introducing a luxury motor yacht which has the lowest possible impact on the seas and the environment. These characteristics are also fully exploited in the smaller model WHY 37x24.

Now that the breakthrough design is finalised, specialist superyacht brokerage houses YCO and Yachting Partners International (YPI Group) have been selected as exclusive business development and sales partners for the project, to create the WHY Commercial Management Team. Wally, YCO and YPI will work together closely to implement the commercial and marketing activity of WHY worldwide, fully exploiting its potential in the mega and giga yacht market.

WHY generated hundreds of contacts and articles worldwide over only six months that produced some very interested prospects” commented Luca Bassani, Wally President and WHY mastermind. “This unprecedented interest in the yachting industry shows that WHY is a leading product requiring the best commercial management to capitalise its positioning. The goal is to sign the first contract in 2010, as originally planned, and launch the first unit in 2013”.

“We fell in love with this project for all sorts of design and environmental reasons,” says Bertrand Vogèle, CEO of the YPI Group. “It responds to a number of demands so many clients passionate about the sea and their enjoyment of it, ask of our industry. We are very proud to be a part of what WALLY has created here. Projects as ground-breaking as this, with experienced and targeted marketing and representation, can change the way we think and act as an industry and a society. We very much look forward to presenting WHY around the world and to signing those first deals with the very first WHY clients.”

“We instantly knew that the WHY project would capture the imagination of the industry" said Gary Wright, Managing Partner of YCO. "It will enable Clients and their guests to enjoy the luxury of an extraordinarily large yacht whilst cruising almost silently in great comfort, all the time remaining considerate of the environment. YCO has always been an innovative company and we are delighted to be introducing such a revolutionary concept to the market.”
