M.Y. Elle was featured as one of Ten New Yachts for Charter in the latest edition of Boat International magazine, March 2009 issue. Here is an extract of how this beautiful luxury yacht was portrayed.
Built by the Tacoma Shipyard, Elle was launched in 1993 and was latterly known as Zsa Zsa before her present owner bought her in 2006 and put her into a thorough $5 million refit from which she emerged last summer. Originally intended for private use, a change of plans has meant that she is now being offered for charter by Yachting Partners International.
Solidity built from steel and boasting a sizeable beam, Elle is a proper “little ship” with partial side-decks on the main deck and full walk-round at bridge deck level. The central funnel on the sun deck created two distinct guest areas with a spa pool and sun mattresses aft and an observation deck forward- ideal for watching the coast pass by. Tenders, toys and their launching crane dominate the bridge deck aft, but there is still room for a dinette-style dining and lounging area adjacent to the upper saloon.
The main alfresco dining, however, is aft on the main deck- a really pleasant setting for 10 diners, while an additional, smaller table takes the number to 15. Her spacious, elegant and classically comfortable American-style interior blends cherry panelling with attractive wall coverings and, in addition to upper and lower saloons, the separate dining room can be fully enclosed.
Unusually, all cabins have king-sized beds, and the main deck master boasts an opulent bathroom decorated with marble and murals. An enthusiastic, highly experienced and largely Australasian crew of 10, led by Captain Jason Langford, includes three stewardesses and Italian chef Filippo Paradiso, whose repertoire reaches well beyond his national cuisine and includes knowledge of dietary requirements. Elle offers a package of good all-round comfort, gourmet dining and amenities that in combination with her cabin arrangement makes her particularly suitable for a joint charter by several pairs of friends.
