YPI welcomes Marine Risk Management specialist, Nikolas Rabier to the Yacht Management team and Alena Zilayova as new Senior Charter Manager with YPI Charter.
Fleet Manager – YPI Management
A Master Mariner/Chief Engineer Class1 with over 10 years’ experience at sea in commercial shipping, Nikolas has been passionate about sailing since he was six years old.
By the time he was 14 he was Multi-hull Hobie Cat 13 French champion. By 17, he was starting his first navigation as Cadet having joined the Ecole Nationale de la Marine Marchande. Nikolas spent two years with the Search & Rescue Operation Team of the Marine Nationale Francaise in Corsica before going on to work around the world on container ships and tankers first as Officer then CGM, Chief Officer and finally Captain.
Coming onshore, Nikolas joined the Lloyd’s Register as Marine Surveyor until finally the temptations of the world of luxury yachting encouraged him set up his own Marine Risk Management company.
“I am very excited about joining YPI and the BRS Group,” says Nikolas. “I want to bring all the experience I have gained in shipping and use it for the benefit of yacht owners. There are not many yacht companies today that have the type of solid yachting experience YPI has, mixed with the incredible 157-years of shipping experience held by BRS. I am looking forward to working with a strong operational team and to helping some of our client owners get even more out of their yachting.”
Bi-lingual in French and English, Nikolas lists his passions in life as his family and two children, deep-sea cruising, multi-hull racing and stand-up paddle boarding.
