It has been billed as one of the most important yacht shows of the last 20 years – and all aspects of the yachting industry will be looking to Port Hercules over the next few days to try to gauge just where the business of luxury yachting is today and where it is going.
“It is going to be an interesting one,” says YPI Group MD, Bertrand Vogèle, “and we are very much looking forward to it.”
Over 100 yachts of between 25 – 80 metres are on display at this year’s Show including 40 new constructions.
YPI has four yachts on show: the superb Campanella, M.Y. MARY-JEAN; the classic Royal Huisman S.Y WILLIAM TAI; the much loved M.Y. RAMSES and, featured in the MYBA Selection, the elegant M.Y. LEONORA.
“The omens look good,” Mike Rich, Broker with YPI Brokerage told us, “It has been a very busy first day - we have welcomed a host of potential clients on our yachts from all over the world today…I think people are ready to get on with the business of enjoying their yachting now. And we’re here to help them.” On William Tai this morning a high profile client was heard to say: « This yacht will sell ».
