Yachting Partners International (YPI) continues its expansion with the recruitment of new members to its YPI Charter and YPI Management teams based in Monaco and the addition of a Financial Controller for the Group.



Vaniese Baldacchino
Position:        Senior Charter Broker
Languages:    English (mother tongue) & French
Originally a brokers’ assistant with Merrill Lynch in London, Vaniese decided to bring her well-honed negotiating and people skills to the world of luxury yachting more than 15 years ago following her relocation to the south of France. Now a much respected charter broker within the industry, she has helped grow the charter retail businesses for yachting companies such as Cavendish White (now Ocean Independence) and Edmiston. Experienced with luxury yachts of all sizes, she has the proven expertise needed for ensuring clients of YPI worldwide get the yachts they want, in the destinations they most desire and on the very best terms.
A dedicated mother of two, Vaniese enjoys dancing and skiing in her spare time.

Nikolas Rabier
Position:        Fleet Manager
Languages:    French (mother tongue) & English
A Master Mariner/Chief Engineer Class1 with over 10 years’ experience at sea in commercial shipping, Nikolas has been passionate about sailing since he was six years old. By the time he was 14 he was Multi-hull Hobie Cat 13 French champion. By 17, he was starting his first navigation as Cadet having joined the Ecole Nationale de la Marine Marchande. Nikolas spent two years with the Search & Rescue Operation Team of the Marine Nationale Francaise in Corsica before going on to work around the world on container ships and tankers first as Officer, Chief Officer and finally Captain. Coming onshore, Nikolas joined the Lloyd’s Register as Marine Surveyor until finally the temptations of the world of luxury yachting saw him set up his own Marine Risk Management company.
Nikolas lists his passions in life as his family and two children, deep-sea cruising, multi-hull racing and stand-up paddle boarding.
“I am very excited about joining YPI and the BRS Group,” says Nikolas. “I want to
bring all the experience I have gained in shipping and use it for the benefit of yacht owners. There are not many yacht companies today that have the type of solid yachting experience YPI has mixed with the incredible 157-years of shipping
experience held by BRS. I am looking forward to working with a strong operational
team and to helping some of our client owners get even more out of their yachting.”

Roberto Dellepiane
Position:        Fleet Manager/ISM & ISPS Manager
Languages:  Italian (mother tongue), English & French
Roberto’s marine career started as a Guardiamarina (Lieutenant) with the Italian Navy from where he got into commercial shipping working for such companies as Sunoco, Sitmar Cruises, Princess Cruises, P&O and Silversea as Deck Officer, 2nd Officer, Fleet Safety Training Officer and Staff Captain for over 17 years. He joined V-Ships in 1996 where he worked as Director of Security, Safety & Quality for the 6-star Silversea Cruises fleet as well as acting as CSO for all V-Ships leisure vessels until 2013. Fully qualified on MLC 2006 with Germanischer Lloyd, Roberto has a long list of certificates to his name including the USCG Control Verification program, the US Vessel Sanitation & Public Health Course and ISM Auditor and Company Security Officer.

This is something I know BRS and YPI have always demanded of their yacht managers and I am pleased to be able to bring my experience to the YPI Group at a time when the yachting industry is going through so much change.”

Frank De Costa
Position:        Technical Manager
Languages:  English (mother tongue) & French
Y1 certified Chief Engineer, Frank De Costa, has over 20 years’ experience on both ships and yachts around the world. In luxury yachting he has worked as engineer and chief engineer on motor yachts such as Feadship’s 52m RIO RITA, the 45m TUGATSU, the 72m SKAT and acted as Build Engineer representing the owner for the construction of the superb 72m Alstom yacht, KOGO, a yacht on which he also went on to become Chief Engineer. Frank’s extensive experience enables him to bring a fully rounded understanding of all systems and situations, resulting in solutions and improvements that work best for the yacht and the owner.
A father of two, Frank is part British, part Australian and enjoys travelling, rugby and getting the best out of life on the Riviera.
“As a Chief Engineer on some important yachts I have had the pleasure of working with a number of management companies and I’ve seen first-hand the reasons so many captains just cannot work with them. There’s a fine line between micro-managing and restricting a yacht’s operation and getting the best out of the captain and crew. I am looking forward to being a part of the YPI team that is known for working with captains and owners with one goal in mind – the most efficient and effective running of the yacht.”

Valerie Nahon
Position:      Financial Controller
Language:    French (mother tongue), English & Spanish
Valerie has an accountancy background extending over 13 years. A certified chartered accountant, she worked with world-leaders Price Waterhouse Coopers before moving into the yachting industry 3 years ago to work as a Compliance Officer with yacht company, YCO. Valerie’s all-round experience gives her the broad and complete understanding of marine and corporate accounting that is today so vital to YPI and its clients. A ‘vraie Niçoise’, she has lived all her life in the south of France and is a keen sportswoman with a particular passion for swimming.
