Munnork Private Island, Thailand
This beautiful private island is halfway between Pattaya and Koh Chang, and less than 60 nautical miles from the pristine coast of Cambodgia. A favourite of YPI Managing Director Laurent Debart, this "hideaway" is an undiscovered rustic oasis, with "amazing sandy beaches and you feel comfortably isolated" he says. "If you want to relax and escape quickly via Bangkok, I can't think of anywhere better."
The island prides itself on serving fresh seafood and authentic Thai cuisine at its Terrace Restaurant, which is in keeping with the island's castaway feel. You can also ask for a picnic and enjoy it at one of the island's most secluded spots.
With Thailand now offering foreign-flagged charter licences for the first time, it won't be long before this Asian hideaway becomes a well-known hotspot.
CATCH YOUR OWN SUPPER
To truly get into the castaway spirit try and catch your own supper by taking advantage of the day or night fishing trips to organised by the resort.
The resort has a policy of not accepting non-staying guests to the Terrace Restaurant, so make the most of the island's intoxicating isolation and beauty and book into one of its 23 bungalows for a couple of nights.
