The 73 metre Dunya-built AXIOMA played host to a signing ceremony on the last day of this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, with YPI’s Director of Sales, Russell Crump, acting on behalf of the owner of AXIOMA, signing a Letter of Intent with Dunya Yachts’ Managing Director, Sedat Ergun, for the construction of the new 100 metre ‘PROJECT BLADE’.
‘PROJECT BLADE’: DESIGN
Almost 30 metres longer than her predecessor, PROJECT BLADE’s hull, superstructure, engineering and construction package is completely custom. She will measure in at 4,500 GT compared to AXIOMA’s 1,500 GT, will be built to PYC and will further develop and improve upon those design elements that have already made AXIOMA such a popular mega yacht including her grand, two-storey atrium style saloon and glass-fronted swimming pool.
“PROJECT BLADE promises to set the standard for large yachts designed and built with the future in mind,” he explains. “She showcases the latest advances in glass and structural technology giving unique panoramic views from all decks, and ground breaking styling which totally departs from conventional side decks and fashion plates.”
‘PROJECT BLADE’ boasts an infinity glass-sided swimming pool visible from a large and fully open beach club and gym with access to the sea on three sides thanks to massive hinge-down shell doors that create swim platforms and a docking area for jet-skies, tenders and other toys. A full beam garage houses a unique collection of tenders, ranging from a 15 metre performance boat to the latest Pascoe 10 metre limousine tenders and sports tenders.
As Ken explains; “The owner enjoys the full and exclusive use of the top deck, with a full beam saloon opening to the aft terrace and the private stateroom enjoying uninterrupted forward and side views.”
Corporate facilities have also not been forgotten, with conference rooms, library facilities and an array of offices to facilitate work on board when required. A dedicated cinema, with rotating settees, can also double as a more intimate saloon.
The atrium spans all decks, and can be accessed directly from a sea-level landing platform giving access to the guest lift and stairs. The crew also enjoy similar facilities, with a dedicated loading platform giving access to the receiving pantry and carefully planned service lift and stairs.
‘PROJECT BLADE’: BUILD
Once built, ‘PROJECT BLADE’ will become the largest motor yacht ever to have come out of Turkey, and the second order for Dunya Yachts from the owner of AXIOMA.
“AXIOMA epitomises the ethos of Dunya Yachts,” says Dunya Yachts Managing Director, Sedat Ergun. “That is to create the world’s finest vessels capitalising on the economy of building in Turkey but drawing on international expertise of world renowned designers, engineers and project managers to deliver a first-class product. Not only is our standard of build at the highest level, but the quality of Dunya’s after-sales service is second to none. It’s one of the reasons why the owner of AXIOMA is keen to return to Dunya Yachts for the build of his new 100 metre ‘PROJECT BLADE’.”
Situated in the heart of Tuzla, Dunya’s Ursa Shipyard is a state-of-the-art yacht and shipbuilding facility just five minutes from the new Sabiha Gokcen International Airport and less than an hour from the bustling, historic city of Istanbul. Currently the largest megayacht facility in Turkey, this family-owned and run yard offers 180 metres of quays, 18,000 square metres of hall space, the largest, most advanced yacht construction halls in Turkey and the country’s only covered dry dock.
“We like to realize the most difficult projects with the highest levels of quality,” says Sedat.
