Description
GITANA was designed by and built for Fabio Perini himself. The shipyard in Viareggio, Italy, is well known for its large outside living area and GITANA is no exception. The rear area of the on-deck saloon is approached through an aluminium arch that supports the stainless steel sun canopy and the mainsheet track.
Laminated curved teak armchairs are built into the interior bulkhead providing seating for 7 around a circular table. Forward there is a dining table for 8, an outside galley with fridge, sink, electric BBQ and ample storage cupboards. Overhead there are circular cutaways in the tan canopy that can be opened or closed.
The list of features on board is very extensive, from lifting keel to her large deck space and 40' cockpit, few yachts can compare.
GITANA has also enjoyed regatta success, taking line honours in the last day of the St Bart's Bucket. In addition, GITANA has competed at the Newport Bucket and Shipyard Cup. On a visit to New York, GITANA was seen by movie director Andy Tennant, who was so impressed with her looks that he re-wrote a scene to include her in the film HITCH.
