Day 1 Allan's Cay
Fly in to Nassau International Airport and join your yacht in Albany Marina, 10 minutes from the airport. After a brief orientation with your crew set off towards the Exumas, crossing the Yellow Banks, dodging coral heads in the clear blue water. Arrive at Allen’s Cay just in time for sunset, and take a refreshing swim as dinner is prepared for you to enjoy under the stars.
Day 2 Horseshoe Bay
Explore the Allan’s Cay area and feed the Bahamian Iguanas that will scurry out to greet you on the beaches. Sail to nearby Highbourne Cay to enjoy “Horseshoe Bay” with its beautiful deserted beach and fabulous reef, the “Octopus’ Garden”. Dinghy around to the charming marina, and watch nurse sharks congregate or relax in the hammocks on the beach. The nearby Exuma Sound offers amazing dive sites and fishing for those wanting more adventure. Enjoy the peace and solitude of this anchorage for the evening.
Day 3 Norman’s Cay
After a morning swim and a little beachcombing, sail on to nearby “Hammerhead Gulch” for a spectacular snorkel or Scuba Dive. After an enjoyable lunch, continue south for your next island destination, Norman’s Cay. There are incredible bays, beaches, flats and lagoons to explore. Without any other boats around, this deserted paradise could entertain you for days! Do everything or nothing at all.
Day 4 Shroud Cay
Cruise on the Exuma Sound, fishing along the way, to the Southern end of Norman’s Cay. Here you can explore the island’s ruins of an infamous drug runner and snorkel on the partially submerged airplane wreck. Colourful fish and coral have made a home in this unique snorkel site. “Twinkie Beach” is another highlight of this anchorage, with its lone palm tree, charming beach, and loads of seashells to collect. Learn to spear fish on the nearby coral heads or hire a local guide to bonefish in the flats.
Day 5 Awake, Shroud Cay
Awake to a gorgeous sunrise and continue your journey South to Shroud Cay, within the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. A highlight of your charter will be the adventure through the mangrove rivers to the other side of the island. Snorkel, kayak, or jetski through this naturalist’s paradise. Explore the breathtaking beaches and climb to the top of “Camp Driftwood” for spectacular views. Experience the currents that create a natural water park or play in the gentle surf surrounded by endless shades of blue stretching from the sky to the crystal clear shallows. Sail on to Hawksbill for the night’s anchorage.
Day 6 Warderick Wells
Warderick Wells, an old pirate’s hideaway, is your destination of the day. Home to the Headquarters of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, this island has miles of trails to explore as well as beaches, reefs, and tropical birds that eat straight out of your hand. This unique anchorage circles around a sandbar, and has strong currents that kids of all ages love to float in.
Day 7 Compass Cay & Day 8 Staniel Cay / Black Point
Sail South to Rocky Dundas and discover several incredible caves perfect for snorkelling. The north end of Compass Cay is just minutes away, and is the home of “Rachel’s Bubble Bath” a natural whirlpool. Depending on the tide, this unique pool is either a flat, peaceful lagoon, or bubbling bath. Continue through the stunning shallow waters of Pipe Creek to arrive at Big Major’s Spot. If you are lucky, the famous swimming pigs will greet you in the water and on the beach. Next, sail into nearby Staniel Cay, and anchor outside the “Thunderball Grotto”. Featured in the James Bond film, this cave system’s colourful corals will make you feel as if you are in an aquarium. Explore the surrounding coves of Staniel Cay, stopping to visit the festive Staniel Cay Yacht Club in the evening.
For your last day, enjoy one last swim in the Exumas before you leisurely make your way to the small island airstrip in Staniel Cay or Black Point for a scenic flight homewards.
